Word on the street is that there's a hot new consultancy business called
Software Memetics. From their
resource page looks like they're pushing something called the Semantic Web and Kowari. It also includes links to
Urchin-Kowari write-up (the
demo shows Lucene integration) and
Kowari: A Platform for Semantic Web Storage and Analysis (paper submitted for WWW2005).

Hmm, odd that a paper David Wang and I wrote 75% of -- about a v. trivial couple day hack -- ends up being a "consultancy white paper" without anyone telling us about it...
Does this mean I'm a consultant too?! :>

One of the thing we can do now that we aren't commercial anymore is change the default behaviour of URIs added to Lucene. Instead of trying to download and index the documents referred.
